Old Fashioned Goulash

I will often halve this recipe for our family of two adults and two littles with leftovers.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (purchase here!)
  • 1 yellow onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced (I use dried for simplicity!)
  • 30 oz diced tomatoes undrained
  • 30 oz tomato sauce
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp Lawry’s seasoned salt
  • 16 oz elbow macaroni

Directions

  1. Cook ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain grease. Add onion and garlic and cook for 3 minutes, or until soft and fragrant.
  2. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, seasoned salt and elbow macaroni to the pan. Mix well and bring to a boil. Reduce to medium-low heat, cover pan and simmer for 25-30 minutes or until pasta is cooked through.
  3. Remove from heat and serve immediately! After I serve my little kids, I will top our plates with a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat.
